Dates for the 2008 CSTS - Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series:
June 15 – July 6 – July 27 – August 10
The Championship Race on August 12th will decide twenty nine Age Group and Division titles. Most Championships will be decided by head to head competition on Sunday. Look through the SERIES POINTS STANDINGS to see how things are shaping up for this weekend. NOTE: In the case of individuals who have completed three races in series, point totals have been adjusted to reflect each individuals top two finishing places (the lowest point total has been discarded).
We expect a big crowd for Sunday's triathlon and urge everyone to try and pick up their race packet on Saturday at the Park from 5 to 7 PM. It really will help you to get that out of the way and not have to spend as much time in line on Sunday morning. If you are unable to pick up Saturday; PLEASE arrive early (6 to 6:15 AM) in order to get a jump on the crowd. We will have lighting up by 5:30 AM.
The demand for this year's CSTS # 3 and # 4 were the quickest sell out in the seventeen year history of the Series. Registration essentially closed nearly two weeks before each race. We are extremely disappointed that we could not accommodate those that missed the cuttofff but are looking forward to a great finale to the season.

This will be the 17th Annual event and each season seems to get better than the one before. One change in policy for the 2007 Series is that wet suits will NOT be allowed in the Men's and Women's Open/Elite Division. Other than that change, pretty much everything else will remain the same with the Series. During the season please check FROM THE TENT for the latest updates on CSTS as it will be frequently updated with registration availability, weather, lost and found items, and general information.
We sincerely appreciate the kind notes and comments that we receive during the year about the Series; we share with you the recognition that this event has developed into something more than just a triathlon. With each race attracting several hundred vocal spectators, the beautiful setting, and the friendships that develop and deepen over the course of the summer; each summer is truly marked by these four special weekends.
Our poster for 2007 CSTS is titled "Let Your Spirit Soar!" Ultimately a triathlon is a personal journey; none of us were born triathletes. Each competitor, regardless of strength or speed, has made the decision that they will stand on the edge of the lake, pull their goggles into place, and give it their all. After the 2007 EAST COOPER COASTAL TRIATHLON we were sent a short simple note that said "Thank you for allowing me to achieve a lifelong goal of completing a triathlon." Such a message is very humbling. We never forget how much these CSTS weekends mean to competitors and spectators alike.
